How to Find Books in the OAES Media Center

The past few weeks we have been learning about how to find books in our library.

We have five main sections (everyone, fiction, nonfiction/dewey, graphic novel, biography). The books in each section have different call numbers, the book's address, which tell where a book lives

Dewey call numbers are very cool- because their numbers stand for different categories.  For example, if you know that you like cars, you can go to the 629's at our library or at the public library.  If you like to draw, look in the 743's.  If you love poetry, try the 811's.  If you like animals, visit the 599s.  Household pets are in the 636's.

Mrs. Sugiuchi loves the 398's, which have the folk and fairy tales!

We've practiced searching for books using destiny quest.  Don't forget- you can search for books from our catalog from home.
