Hooray for Reading Rock Stars, Book Clubs, and Avid Bookshop Events

Wowza, Wildcats! Hundreds of you turned in your reading logs for last week's Reading Rock Stars- so many that Ms. Sugi is inspired to create new amazing prizes.  Way to go

Our 4th and 5th graders are beginning book clubs with our UGA interns.  Check back later this week to learn more about our UGA friends. Did you catch last week's game? Our interns Ms. Jane and Mr. Andrew perform with the Redcoats, and Ms. Ashleigh marches with the UGA Flagline!Definitely a great week to be a bulldog! GO UGA! We <3 you!

Lastly, our friends at Avid Bookshop have lots of kid-friendly events this month.  We copied this month's newsletter below. If you haven't been to Avid (the best bookshop ever!), you must- it's Ms. Sugi's home away from home! They are located close by- at 493 Prince Avenue.  I hope some of you will find time to attend one of their fantabulous events.  Both the Dork Diaries Do-Gooder Party and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Truck look like tons o' fun! And Halloween Story Time? Count me in!

MEET A LOCAL AUTHOR & LEARN ABOUT ONE OF GEORGIA'S MOST IMPORTANT ECOSYSTEMS: Special Story Time on Sat., Oct. 5th at 10:30am:
Avid Bookshop is pleased to bring local author Merryl Alber to the shop on Sat., 10/5/13, at 10:30am, to discuss her bookAnd the Tide Comes In: Exploring a Georgia Salt Marsh.
